How We Make

At GARUDE, intention is the thread that runs through everything, what we make, how it’s made, and how it reaches you. We slow the pace so the things you choose can last longer, feel better, and mean more.

We start with materials that make sense. Our everyday tees lean on organic cotton for a soft, dependable feel. Fleece pieces pair cotton with recycled polyester to add durability while keeping existing resources in circulation, many styles literally keep plastic bottles out of landfill. When warmth calls, we use Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certified down you can trust. Across the range, we publish weights and constructions because quality should be felt and known.

Craft is our compass. Patterns are designed for longevity and efficient use of fabric; garments are pre-shrunk to hold their shape; seams and finishes are chosen to stand up to real life. The goal is simple: fewer replacements, more seasons of wear, and pieces you’re proud to keep close.

Packaging follows the same logic: minimal, material-smart, and easy to understand. Orders ship in paper mailers; garments are not packed into plastic zip bags (we have opted against this unnecessary packaging); thank-you cards are printed on recycled and/or FSC® mix uncoated paper. Our printer uses plastisol inks that are free of plasticisers and phthalates (substances the EU classifies as harmful), and water-based inks that are compostable under appropriate conditions. Every element is designed to be reused first, then recycled (or composted where accepted).

Sustainability isn’t a badge for us, it’s a practice. We’ll keep refining fabrics, trims, and formats; keep replacing mixed materials with mono-material solutions When we find a better way, we adopt it.

Your part matters, too. Wear often, wash cool, line-dry when possible. And recycle as appropriate.
